About

Ever since I can remember, the dinner table has traditionally been the gathering place for my family. Many happy family reunions have taken place over a tasty meal featuring a multitude of entrees.

As an American-Born Chinese (“ABC”), my upbringing blended both worlds. My culinary foundation is based in the attention to detail characteristic of Chinese cuisine (such as the selection and preparation of ingredients), enhanced by broad cross-cultural influences (including Italian, French, German, Mexican, other Asian, and other cuisines). Some of my fondest childhood memories are of being at-home in the kitchen watching my parents as they prepared a multicourse holiday meal. In today’s 24/7 world, however, time is precious, and few people are able to spend significant time on meal preparation. the Health Is How You MAAKE It(TM) book series shares a curated collection of recipes that have been streamlined to fewer steps, and swaps ingredients to healthier contemporary alternatives.
